Tips for setting up a gallery wall at home

Once you've selected your wall art pieces, it's important to plan the layout of your gallery wall before hanging any pieces. You can choose from different styles of gallery wall layouts like grid style, hall style or asymmetrical style.

Don't be afraid to try different combinations.

You can use frames of different sizes to create a more interesting effect.

If you don't have enough frames, you can use other objects such as photos, mirrors, plants or decorative objects.

To create a more harmonious composition, it is important that the paintings have something in common, such as a theme, a color palette or a style, see image by Olcay Ertem.

Examples of gallery wall layouts.

Linear Layout: frames are alined vertically or horizontally. You can aline by the center of the group of frames, by the botton or by de top.

Diagonal Layout: Frames are attractive in diagonal lines.

Block layout: Frames are grouped into blocks of different sizes and shapes.

Organic layout: the frames are attractive in a free and relaxed way.

With a little creativity and planning, you can create a gallery wall that is unique and fits your style.

When deciding which pieces of art to put on your wall, it's best to focus on one piece at a time rather than trying to fill every inch with art. Just because there is space doesn't mean there has to be something hanging there. Sometimes less is more!
